Editorial Policy
Our goal is to publish accurate, fair and understandable journalism for readers in Pakistan and beyond. These standards guide our work as the newsroom develops.
Publication status: NationalNews.pk is currently in its launch/preview stage. This page describes our intended standards; it is not a claim that a staffed newsroom or live news operation is already active.
Accuracy and verification
We aim to verify material claims against primary documents, official statements, direct reporting and multiple credible sources where appropriate. Breaking information will be labelled as developing when facts remain uncertain.
Sources and attribution
We will identify sources clearly and link to original documents or statements when practical. Anonymous sources should be used only when there is a strong public-interest reason and the information can be independently assessed.
Corrections
Material errors should be corrected promptly and transparently. When a published story is corrected, we intend to explain what changed and when. Readers can flag possible errors by contacting editor@nationalnews.pk.
Independence and conflicts
Editorial decisions should be separated from advertising and commercial interests. Potential conflicts of interest should be disclosed and managed.
Opinion, sponsored content and AI
Opinion and analysis should be labelled. Sponsored material must be clearly identified. AI tools may assist research or production, but they do not replace human verification, editorial responsibility or final review.
Privacy and public interest
We will avoid publishing private personal information unless there is a clear and proportionate public-interest justification. We aim to treat people fairly, especially in stories involving children or vulnerable people.
